ABOUT

The Sedan Transitions to Excellence Program (STEP) provides after hours academic and enrichment experiences for approximately 85 students in grades K-8.

Academics

Students in grades 2-8 work on daily homework tasks, read books for required AR points, or increase reading and math skills using the district's IXL program.

Grade 2-5 attend homework Monday - Thursday for 35 minutes. Grade 6-8 students attend two days of homework, then attend one of two Wild Wednesday Enrichments offered each 6-week period.

K-1 students received skills instruction aligned to identified needs in reading and math.

Enrichments

Enrichment classes meet each day for 35 minutes and rotate along five different themes: Health/Wellness, Creative Arts, Crafts, and STEM. Social-emotional Learning lessons are offered to all students using the Sanford Harmony resources in end-of-day Meet Ups.

Free Play & Snacks

After school students travel in grade level pairs with each group having a nutritious snack and a 15-minute recess.

Wild Wednesday Enrichments

Grade 6-8 students are finishing the first round of clubs with either FitZone Fitness Club or the Welding Club. See the flier below for Round 2.

National Lights On After School Night

In observance of this Nation-wide event, we are shining the light of understanding about bullying with Joe Coles in a special family night event. Joe will present to parents and students will engage in fun activities in the gym after the family night dinner in the cafeteria.
